Rahmatul Muneem made Energy and Mineral Resources Division secretary

The government has appointed Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem, Chairman of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), as the Secretary of Energy and Mineral Resources Division.

The appointment was made on Wednesday, said a Public Administration Ministry notification.

Presently, Nazimuddin Chowdhury is doing the job of Secretary of Energy and Mineral Resources Division. His contract will expire on May 9 this year. So, new secretary Rahmatul Muneem is expected to join on May 10.

Muneem, a BCS officer (administration) of 84 batch, did many remarkable works after joining BPC.

The works include regular campaign to stop stealing fuel oil, modernization of filling station policy of fuel oil, removing complexity of condensate supply and its use, formulation of draft of lube oil policy, pipeline construction project for fuel oil transport under the supervision of the Bangladesh Army and the Navy.

He completed his honors in 1981 and masters in 1982 from the Geology Department of Dhaka University.

On January 21, 1986, he joined the Establishment Ministry as assistant secretary.

He was born in Sirajganj on January 6, 1961.
